Advocacy Policy and Research
As a peak body, Volunteering SA&NT advocates for and supports the rights, wellbeing, and interests of volunteers, volunteer involving organisations and the wider volunteering community through systemic advocacy, policy development, research, and campaigns.
We work with our members and other stakeholders in the volunteering ecosystem to provide evidence-based and strategic advice to government on how their decisions impact the volunteering sector. To do this, we provide submissions to inquiries and consultations, we develop policy related to volunteering, we sit on reference panels and committees, we engage in campaigns, and we engage with government, the business community, the higher education sector, and the wider community, to foster a culture that recognises and celebrates volunteerism.

Research
A strong research and evidence base is essential to our purpose to promote and build a vibrant, and strong volunteering community that is respected, sustainable and inclusive. Our advocacy, policy and research work is underpinned by current research, consultation and engagement with volunteers, volunteer involving organisations and the broader volunteer ecosystem.

Campaigns
Volunteering SA&NT works on a range of campaigns. Our campaign work is informed by volunteers, our members, and the wider volunteer ecosystem to assist us to advocate for the rights of volunteers and to support innovation, diversity, and best practice in volunteering.

National and State Volunteering Strategies.
The recently released National Strategy for Volunteering 2022-2033 and the Volunteering Strategy for South Australia 2021-2027 provide important frameworks to guide the work that Volunteering SA&NT undertakes in South Australia and how we, our members and stakeholders will contribute to the implementation and operation of the National Strategy over the next 10 years.
