We heard from Senator the Hon Anne Ruston, Senator for South Australia, Hon Michelle Lensink MLC, Minister for Human Services and Sharyn Broer, CEO Meals on Wheels. We launched our Year in Review 2019/2020 Highlights and announced ongoing and new board members.

    Year in Review 2019/20 Highlights

    Our annual Year in Review highlights the successes and achievements throughout the year, which are categorised under our strategic priorities, aligned to the Volunteering Strategy for South Australia. This year volunteers played a vital role and worked tirelessly in fighting the bushfires, supporting emergency services and in the recovery stage. We managed over 3000 registrations of interest for support in bushfires and over 580 for the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Farewell to two of our longest standing board members, Sarah Collyer-Braham (2014) and Joe Capozza (2010). Due to an overwhelming response to next week’s AGM, unfortunately registrations to attend in Adelaide have now closed, however if you are interstate or regional, you can still register for online. Financial members can still vote in the Board elections (close COB Monday 19 October 2020) or if you or your organisation would like to vote and aren’t financial, then please arrange payment of membership as soon as possible.
