We have added a new easy to find COVID-19 information button on our website homepage. It lists a range of resources including new fact sheets for volunteering involving organisations and volunteers on volunteering during the pandemic. Importantly, we have been activated by the Government of South Australia as the only official organisation to manage all registrations and refer spontaneous emergency volunteers to volunteer involving organisations (VIOs) during this pandemic. If you are a volunteer involving organisation and need volunteers, then please contact us as we are ready to assist you.

Fortnightly VNews - update on SA Bushfire emergency recovery volunteers. VSA&NT have deployed over 50 volunteers in the recovery phase with organisations like Team Rubicon and Habitat for Humanity. These volunteers have committed over 980 hours, which is the wage equivalent of around $42,160. This, when added to all the volunteer hours from those working on bushfire recovery with other organisations, is remarkable. Thank you to everyone for helping out in this time of need. Please continue to share what we are doing through social media by tagging @volunteeringsant and using hashtags #SAvolunteer and #SAbushfires.

What’s new and evolving in the NT not-for-profit sector? It is so important that NFP organisations and volunteer involving organisations work together to ensure sustainability of their sector and to continue to strengthen communities through volunteering. For the third consecutive year, we have partnered with the Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA) to put on an exciting two day program which highlights what is needed to move with the changing and evolving needs of the volunteering sector. The NT Not-for-profit Forum, to be held in Darwin on 7 & 8 April is a fabulous opportunity to hear from sector peers and to keep the conversation moving. As well as the one day session, there is also a masterclass held on the second day that will further explore the theme of sustainability, resilience and leadership.
