There’s two really important events coming up this month that I’d like to spruik this fortnight and that’s the Sustainability │Resilience │Leadership Not-for-Profit Forum in Darwin next Thursday and the National Volunteering Conference in Sydney 20-22 June.

Volunteering SA&NT VNews 8 June 2018
Sydney will host the National Volunteering Conference later this month on 20-22 June. The Conference is for anyone who works in the volunteering sector, no matter what level or how big the organisation. I have no doubt, that there will be something in the packed program for you. The fantastic line up of speakers are covering topics such as the future of volunteering; partnerships; volunteer support services workshop; emergency management; volunteer rights and leadership – change management. So if you haven’t looked and booked, then I urge you too as time is running out.

We were thrilled with the record turnout to our Parade and BBQ on Monday, which launched NVW in SA.

Don’t leave it too late to nominate somebody who you think deserves to be recognised for their incredible and invaluable involvement in your community. Whether it’s a volunteer or a volunteer manager – anyone who works in volunteering can be nominated. Or it may be for outstanding service by a volunteer involving organisation or in recognition of a fantastic corporate volunteering program.

National Volunteer Week #NVW2018 SA Celebrations
Who doesn’t love a parade? And when you are celebrating something that nearly one million South Australians do every single day of the year, you can’t go wrong! Today, a record number of 1000 volunteers from 60 organisations will proudly take the same steps in a sea of colour to commemorate the enormous contribution that volunteers make to communities, and to kick start National Volunteer Week celebrations all around the State.

National Volunteer Week in the Northern Territory #NVW2018
It’s National Volunteer Week and the 70,000 Northern Territory volunteers who freely and passionately give their time and skills to communities and individuals are gratefully acknowledged and recognised. Volunteering NT are managing two special events this week in celebration of volunteers everywhere, and both have seen an increase in attendance numbers.
