The theme of this issue is Reconnect - Bring back volunteers - as we focus on the challenges of the pandemic to the volunteering sector and look at the changes that need to be made to reinvigorate volunteering.

    As SA comes out of lockdown we are observing continuing restrictions around mask wearing and social distancing, and send our thoughts to everyone in other areas around Australia who are not so fortunate. Stay up to date with the latest advice and restrictions from the Government of South Australia, and visit our COVID-19 resources page on the website. We welcome new volunteer support service partners, Northern Volunteering and Southern Volunteering, who will be working with us to support the new Volunteer Management Activity (VMA) program to increase and strengthen volunteer participation.

    We have a new Darwin Office - The Avenue, L2, 220/12 Salonika Street, Parap. Nominations for the NT Volunteer of the Year Awards are now open, and we are excited to announce two new categories - the Chief Minister’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander of the Year Award, and the Study NT International Student Volunteer of the Year Award. We look forward to bringing you a new refreshed look to VNews as we move away from a fortnightly update, to the first week in each month.

    CEO Evelyn O'Loughlin resigns from position after almost thirteen years. The Volunteering SA&NT Board wish Evelyn well in her new endeavours. A recruitment process will commence for the appointment of our new CEO. In the meantime, we are pleased to confirm Tracey Fox our Executive Manager SA will be acting as CEO as from Monday 19 July 2021.
