Right now we're looking for volunteer Bus Drivers to join our Darwin Community Hub.

About the role:
We are looking for a qualified bus driver to support with our weekly and monthly outings.

Our bus is a 17 seater and an LR licence is required. The trips are mainly for social excursions to help members of our community to maintain a social lifestyle.

If you enjoy giving back, have great communication skills and have patience and empathy for people living with dementia then this position would suit you.

All volunteers require a current National Police Certificate for the Purpose of Aged Care, evidence of the annual influenza vaccination and a current LR license with a clear driving background.

Time Required

We appreciate the commitment and support of our volunteers and work with each one to arrange the most suitable days and times for them to volunteer with us. Any time you give is valuable, be it 3 days a week or a few hours per month.


Mandatory training is provided and opportunity for further education is provided.

All volunteers require a police certificate for the purpose of aged Care and evidence of the 2021 influenza vaccination.

Please Note:
* During the Covid-19 pandemic, organisations should be providing all necessary Covid-19 safety protection measures for volunteers following the advice of both the State or Territory Governments and the Federal Government. Your safety and wellbeing is your priority. Familiarise yourself with the most up-to-date requirements and advice from the Australian and NT and SA State Governments.
* As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Volunteer Personal Accident Insurance).
* Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.
