Key Tasks and activities that are undertaken as part of this role include:
Providing quality services to those requiring transport to the Holtze Correction Centre
Assisting clients to and from vehicle (avoiding undertaking physical lifting or personal care duties).
Operating in a manner that promotes effective teamwork, good relationships with service providers and service users
Being prompt, courteous and respectful when interacting with residents, families and colleagues
Before each trip, collect keys, vehicle and mobile telephone from designated area, check windscreen washer reservoir, fuel, oil and water levels and tyre pressure, and record all details in the vehicle’s logbook.
At the end of each trip, clean and re-fuel vehicle, return vehicle to designated area, complete logbook details and report any difficulties, client issues or vehicle repair/maintenance issues to the Centre Manager
At all times ensure the vehicle mobile telephone is switched on, is contactable at all times and is safely secured within the vehicle.
Integrity checks are required for this role
Volunteer Drivers must maintain a current NT driver’s licence – “LR” class with H Endorsement
